Sunday Club Volunteer Profiles
Emma Ginn
Caterer for Ringsfield Hall Trust
The trust is an Eco educational centre just outside of Beccles
on the old Bungay road taking school groups
and many other groups looking for a retreat from the big
cities and the pollution. As cook I provide home cooked
meals, cakes and biscuits and fresh baked bread whilst the
groups go out and explore the grounds and courses on offer.
Outside of work my husband and I enjoy helping out at Sunday
club for whom I love making my favourite
cake recipes and savouries. I am also a committee member
and Secretary for the club.

Graham Ginn
Trainee Accountant - May Gurney, Trowse
During the week I commute to Trowse near Norwich where I
have recently started on a trainee program
with Cima to become a fully qualified accountant.
At the end of the week I like to get out on my bicycle or
go for long walks along the beach,
then at Sunday Club I sometimes help to set up but mainly
I am chief washer upper.
Of course I also butter scones and serve lots of cups of
tea! I am also a member on the management committee.
We both enjoy helping out and volunteering together at the
Sunday Club. For a small amount of our time,
we feel happy that we can make our members afternoon so
enjoyable.
Jill Asquith
Trainee Veterinary Nurse at Wangford Veterinary Practice
When the Volunteer Centre closed I decided to follow my
heart and my love of animals.
I work full time and enjoy every minute working towards
being a qualified veterinary nurse.
I have four dogs and four cats at home which keep me busy
at home as well as five children
of which four still live at home. Life is hectic but that’s
just the way I like it.
Sunday Club is very special to me and seeing what a difference
it makes to so many is very rewarding.
I do a bit of everything at the Sunday Club including organising
the many trips we go on
and I am also chairman of the club.
Graham Hitter
Lorry Driver for Ridgeons at Lowestoft
Driving during the week is what I do, I have been doing
it for nearly thirty years now and I have got to know all
the highways and cut throughs, short cuts and this helps
greatly when it comes to picking up Sunday Club members
when I also drive the bus to pick them up from all the surrounding
areas including Lowestoft, Oulton Broad,
Kessingland, Worlingham and Beccles.
I am a committee member and in charge of transport for the
club, as we now have three buses running on a Sunday!
Susan Mummery
I have been helping the Sunday Club for 4 years and really
enjoy it, i work behind the counter making and serving drinks
and food, i am also the bingo caller and am still trying
to remember all the sayings to go with the numbers, i have
made lots of new friends with the members since i started
and think the club is a really good place for people to
come to.
Katie Mummery
Katie is Susans daughter, she has also helped for 4 years,
she takes the money at the door as members arrive, she also
collects all the washing up, gives out raffle tickets and
bingo cards, helps a lady to do her bingo, Katie enjoys
being busy and does a lot to help the older people who all
think a lot of her.
