Letter Sent to The Beccles And Bungay Journal

I want to express my thanks to the Beccles Sunday Club for a wonderful 10th Anniversary party held on Sunday 7th November.
I accompanied my elderly mother, Rene Danson to the event. On arrival we found the hall was tastefully decorated with balloons on the tables and everywhere looked ready for a party. I was pleasantly surprised at the superb entertainment which followed. Tom Jones (Ian Scott)
had travelled from Yorkshire, after the original entertainer had cancelled due to illness, and he would not been out of place at the Theatre Royal in Norwich or the Marina Theatre. He was wonderful. We were also entertained by Sean and Andre accompanied by Mark James. We were served drinks and a lovely buffet.
The Mayor of Beccles joined us and gave his thanks to the club chairman Jill Asquith, our driver Graham and all the other volunteers. My mother, who is in a wheelchair, is picked up from her care home and taken home after the club has finished, by a wonderful driver, Graham. Nothing is to much trouble for him. Jill and her team of volunteers deserve a massive thank you for all of the time and effort they give to all their elderly members.
